Short Sale Buyer Benefits
If you are looking to purchase discounted property as a homeowner or investor, Short Sale homes may be a good option for the following reasons:
- Most Short Sale homes are availabel for 30% to 50% or more of their original value. Homes that originally sold for $400,000 may now be selling for $200,000 or less.
- Many of the Short Sale homes need minimal work, compared to other types of vacant foreclosures. Some homes are still occupied, with utilities on, and most owners are keeping the property in descent condition.
- There are down payment options with a minimum of 3.5% or less that you may need to start the process. A home that originally was $200,000 may be obtained for around $100,000 with as little as $3,500 or less for down payment.
- If accepted by the banks, a 2% to 6% credit may be allowed for closing costs. Any closing cost not used can sometimes offset the amount of money needed for down payment at closing for the buyer.
- With some properties, occupancy may be given prior to closing as a Rent/Buy purchase. If you have fair to good credit, and can qualify within approximately 3 months, you may be elligible for early occupancy.
