Handyman & Handywoman Links
Lowes Handyman websiteTo help you with your home or real estate investment projects, this site has gotton better over the years. This site has an outstanding "How To Library" with an extensive selecection of project instructions that are very well organized with detail information. Look under the tab " Project & Video Center". When you click on a project, you will get step-by-step directions with color drawings. Be careful of the interactive animated instructions, it's very slow to load (unless you have a T1 or DSL line) and they want you to register before you use it. Click here to get to Lowes webisteHometime's websiteThis is one of my favorite shows (on public television and the Learning Channel) that have "easy" illustrations on how to fix or build almost anything. The original TV show "This Old House" was very good, but Hometime was just a little bit better. You can also order their videos, which are very good from this website. When you're in this site select the "How To" tab at the top, or the "Step-By-Step Projects" below the tabs. This website goes hand in hand with 'The Family Handyman' magazine, which is a great tool for the do-it-yourselfer. The website contains past articles which can be found in the "Home Improvement Library". Click here for Hometime's Website.. The Family HandymanThis website goes hand in hand with 'The Family Handyman' magazine, which is a great tool for the do-it-yourselfer. The website contains past articles which can be found in "Search Articles & Plans". Click here for The Family Handyman website. Home DepotOnce inside this site go the "Know How" tab and look under Projects or select the " Video Know-How on Demand". The projects are arranged in categories that may assist you on certan projects. They also have an excellent fixer-upper book "Home Improvement 1-2-3". Click here for Home Depot's website. WGNs "Mr. Fix It"Lou Manfredini is well known in Chicago as "Mr. Fix It" He is unbelievably knowledgeable on practically anything that needs to be fixed, built, remodeled, torn-down, etc. He has a weekly radio show on WGN (720 am) on Saturday mornings from 6AM to 9AM. If you own a home or investment property or simply want to know how to fix just about anything, you should definitely listen to this show. He also has a TV show "House Smarts" on NBC5 in Chicago, which is also worth checking out. This is a link to his WGN website which provides archived information taken from Lou's e-newsletter, with helpful information on a variety of subjects. Click here for Mr Fix It - Q&A .
